About Amy

I’m a native of Southend-on-Sea, Essex, and moved to Norwich in 2003 to attend the Norwich School of Art and Design and graduated in 2006 with a BA (Hons) Fine Art.

Loving life in Norwich I decided to stay.

Since going to my first Hemsby Rock’n’Roll Weekender in 2004 my interest and enthusiasm for hairstyles from days gone by grew. In 2009 I was given the amazing opportunity to train at the UK’s first vintage hair salon based in London – Nina’s Hair Parlour. From here I brought my skills back to Norwich and continued work at the salon Flint, where I work today.

Over the years my style has evolved. I love to create modern styles, but find ways to reference them back to the classic styles of the past.

I love the variety of work my job allows me to do, and as well as working at the salon I get to work on photoshoots, at weddings and parties. I love creating everything from beautiful vintage hairstyles through to fashion inspired avant garde creations.

In 2020 I entered The Wedding Industry Awards and won the Award for Best Wedding Hairstylist in the East of England.

I’ve had work featured on TV, on vogue.co.uk, commercials and have styled hair for over 700 weddings.

In my spare time I love to walk in the beautiful countryside that Norfolk has to offer. I love nature and enjoy the peace being outdoors brings. I also started printmaking and crochet again this year and this has bought me a lot of joy.
